I have used the 2nd option many times, and it gives u the best portable OS ever! Performance... yes it will run a little slower than usual on USB 2.0

It's worth a try if you have two or more USB flash drives. Reformat the flash drive and reload the Ubuntu ISO from an application for making a live USB.
