May 12, 2024 · In the press release for the M4 iPad Pro Apple stated "The new Smart Folio for iPad Pro attaches magnetically and now supports multiple viewing angles for greater flexibility." While I don't get the iPad of course until Wednesday, the new Smart Folio was available for pickup today and it indeed has a different design on the angles.

The Slim Folio Pro and the Slim Book Go both add a considerable amount of bulk to the iPad Pro, doubling the weight of the device and making it a good deal thicker.

However, now that I have a 2020 ipad, i was thinking what is the different between the Apple Smart Folio for the iPad Pro and the cheap amazon folio. The one reason why I would want the apple smart folio is the really great surf blue color they have.

May 16, 2024 · I ended up also buying the Apple Smart Folio. The ESR case is slightly larger and it does have a noticeable lip around it while the apple folio has only a very slight lip (it looks flush but you can feel a very slight overhang). The result is that the volume buttons are higher than the case with the Apple version, but lower with the ESR.

Aug 28, 2009 · The Smart Keyboard Folio on my iPad Pro (3 gen) has been delivering perfect service for my use cases. I often have to fold the keyboard and use the iPad as a book. Not having the Smart Keyboard Folio available for the new iPad Pro is a no-go for me. I won’t buy the new iPad Pro (although I crave for more power) until I find a decent solution.

Jul 11, 2009 · The smart folio are decent quality BUT mine showed the metal underneath the outer coating out of the box, it’s only a small spec what isn’t covered by the silicon material. Likely will get worse over time, Apple said it’s general wear and tear and wouldn’t replace it either.

I had the Smart Folio initially, and then cycled through a Nomad case, a Zugu, a couple cheap ESRs, using each one for a couple months or so, before ultimately returning to the Smart Folio over a year later, chiefly because of my general irritation with the cover not magnetically attaching to the back.
