Aug 8, 2023 · The AM3 and AM5 mounts are in first place imaging mounts. Yes, you can use it for visual, but out of the box you can't perform polar alignment. And it lacks of a intelligent handcontroller. Further the multi star sync seems to be not reliable. For a full goto to function, you would need asiar or a computer with Ascom.

Dec 18, 2023 · I use an Explore 102ED triplet with a .8 reducer for imaging. I think the AM3 could handle it no problem. At 5.4kg bare, you'll be close to the no CW limit of the AM3 at 8kg with all of your imaging rig. I happen to have both an AM5 and AM3; I've had my AM5 for some time now and I really like it.

Cables and Power Supply Question AM3 (and other bits)
Oct 9, 2023 · Here are some 3' DC5521 power cables with 90° male ends. Here is a DC5521 splitter cable that you can use with the power cables. I think that my ASI120MM Mini came with a USB-C to USB-A cable. The ZWO equipment uses 5.5mm x 2.1mm connectors (DC5521). Be careful to avoid mixing them with 5.5mm x 2.5mm connectors (DC5525).
