LNER 2-6-0 Mogul Locomotives. The Mogul was a versatile type, superseding the 0-6-0 for freight or substituting for the 4-6-0 as a mixed traffic design. The GER introduced 2-6-0s for coal haulage as early as 1878 but had all been withdrawn by 1887, while later US-built freight locos bought by the GCR and GNR as stop-gaps were also short-lived.

Jun 2, 2011 — On further study of the Finecast paperwork I realise that the K3 "frames + valvegear" etches don't contain the motion bracket, this being on the separate "spacers and pony truck" etch. That would mean buying both, at obviously greater cost, and having a lot more parts left over. Perhaps the argument begins to swing in Comet's favour?

Dec 13, 2013 — K3 injectors, it's some 60 years since I last worked K3s but if an exhaust steam injector was fitted it would always be on the drivers side. The steam valve on that side was a pull out handle.I do remember we always had a short firing shovel for a K3. Boiler pressure say 180 psi and injector pressure supplied also 180 psi. How did the clack lift ??
