Colorado coach Deion Sanders is hiring former NFL MVP Marshall Faulk as his running backs coach, the program announced Thursday night. Faulk will replace Gary Harrell, who is no longer with the program after coaching running backs under Sanders at both Jackson State and Colorado.

It will be interesting to see if Sanders' NFL experiment continues to yield success. He seems to have learned from the failures of Arizona State's former head coach Herm Edwards, who brought in the likes of Antonio Pierce and Marvin Lewis to shore up his staff from 2018-22.

Colorado finished the season with a 9-4 record and a 7-2 mark in Big 12 play. They were listed as the No. 4 team in the Big 12 standings, just two years after the program went 1-11. While the Buffaloes have been extremely successful under Sanders between the white lines, that success has also extended to the classroom.

It is the first college coaching job for Marshall Faulk, who spent a decade as an analyst for the NFL Network after his playing career ended. He joins head coach Deion Sanders' staff.
