Red-stemmed thalia grows in boggy soils or shallow water. Plant cannas on the edge of a pond – they love having wet feet. Japanese iris flourishes in ponds in summer, but dies in winter.

Blue Flag Iris (Iris versicolor ... commonly found in wetlands and along the edges of ponds and streams. It produces brilliant red flowers that bloom from midsummer to early fall.
