North and South Korea have been at odds since the peninsula was partitioned by the United States and the Soviet Union in 1945. What was ended to be a temporary split has endured for almost eight decades.

A joint advisory from the U.S., Britain, and South Korea revealed that North Korean hackers, known as Anadriel or APT45, have been conducting a global cyber espionage campaign to steal classified military secrets to support Pyongyang's nuclear weapons program.

North Korea will soon have nuclear weapons that could blitz US military bases in the region, amid growing fears of a global conflict.
