Ko was the LPGA’s player of the year in 2019 when she won two majors—the Chevron and Evian. She has three top-10s in this major, too. Ko started the year by finishing in the top five in the first two events, including a second-place finish at the Founders Cup.

Major season for the LPGA officially begins on Thursday as the Chevron Championship kicks off from The Woodlands, Texas. Nelly Korda, the number one player in the world, is defending champion and is looking to be the first repeat winner since Annika Sörenstam in 2001 and 2002.
