Enough fentanyl to kill nearly a million people were seized thanks to a six-month investigation that dismantled a major drug enterprise in Florida.

Police in Hillsborough County, Florida, announced the arrest of 33 people on drug trafficking charges after seizing enough fentanyl to kill nearly 1 million people. Newsweek reached out for comment to the U.

A kilo of fentanyl, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, is enough to potentially kill 500,000 people.
