A skier at Palisades Tahoe ski resort died earlier this week after crashing into a tree, the resort confirmed Friday.

Hughes was skiing off the Scott chairlift, which goes to some of the steepest terrain in Lake Tahoe, when he crashed around 11:30 a.m. It was the second death this season at a Tahoe area resort.

According to the preliminary report, the slide caught and carried two skiers. One skier died from, "trauma" while the other sustained, "significant leg injuries and was evacuated via helicopter." ...
