New York City collected $48.6 million in revenue from the first month of its congestion pricing program that the Trump administration has moved to kill, a transit agency said.

The Trump administration said on Wednesday it is rescinding approval of New York City’s congestion pricing program designed to reduce traffic and raise billions to upgrade New York’s aging subway and bus systems.

If the Trump administration gets its way, the end of New York City congestion pricing will come in the third week of March.

New York City must end its congestion pricing program by March 21, the Trump administration said in a letter made public on Wednesday. Last week, the Transportation Department said it was rescinding federal approval of New York City's congestion pricing program designed to reduce traffic and raise money to upgrade aging subway and bus systems.
