I drove there about a month ago (early Feb this year). It had been snowing the days before I got there and snowed significantly the days after ("snowmaggedon" they called it). The main road (Rte30) was cleared and salted the day I drove on it, but side roads looked icy and needing chains. But I don't know if that is always the case.
