If your anywhere near the Fremont Troll, certainly make a visit. Neat photo op especially if you have family with you. Parking can be tough grab the first space you see otherwise you may end up goi… Full review by WillieMacfan
Is the surrounding area safe? Walking from the West of it from the Barrel Thief to the Troll, and not from around here will be walking late this weekend around 10ish or 11ish or so.

Not the safest area of Seattle. There were some shady people around during the day. Not sure I'd want to do it at night (although it would probably look cool at night if well lit). Remember, its a troll under an overpass at top of a big hill. Not friendliest environment for a late night stroll.

It doesn't. There are only two ways to get there without your own car, bus from downtown or taxi, about a 10 minute ride from downtown. If you take the bus you can ride it from downtown into Fremont and walk about 5 minutes up the hill to under the bridge to the troll. Use the trip adviser link on Seattle Metro to plan your trip.
