Hello All so it appears that the staircase is now open? I have a trip planned in mid May. Can you go without a tour and just pay the entrance fee (any idea of what that is?) upon arrival (after hunting for it of course - from what i read it is not that easy to find :) but then all of Venice from what I have read will be a treasure hunt for me). You should be able to find it by searching with "Scala Contarini del Bovolo". Or you can find it in my review dated Dec 23, 2014.
