It is an uphill walk from the entrance to reach the well, however the road is smoothly paved, it's well signposted and there are plenty of things to see along the way. We went on a weekday afternoon …Full review by Gee231205x2022

Very cool site. The staff and park attempt to regulate traffic control here but it's not managed well enough. We waited about 15 minutes in line to head into the tower. From there, you are simply ush…Full review by lileeewhoo

Fun easy hike. Amazing views. Best to go early to visit Sintra or it gets pretty crowded. Not so bad in mid November, though a bit chillyFull review by j2chan

You don't have to climb back up as the tunnels bring you back out at one of the lower follies (depending on which route you take). You do have to go up the hill to get to the top entrance which is fairly steep up the many paths in the park. Climb down through the well is a stone spiral staircase - but no more difficult than a normal stairs although slightly uneven.

From Lisbon take train to Sintra. It would be a long walk from the train station, might be better to take an Uber. You will be bombarded with tour guides who want to drive you around as soon as you get off train. There are two different hop on hop off buses you can take from the train station. One route goes up the mountain to Pena Palace and Moorish Castle. The other bus route takes you to Quinta De Regelaria. We used bus for our trip. To find the busses make an immediate right turn as you leave the train stations (like a u-turn), walk down sidewalk along train station and busses will be about a block down street. Pay cash and bus employees have maps to help you figure out which route you need. Be prepared with good shoes, hills are very steep. Also have water and snack with you. Be sure to see the town of Sintra too. Enjoy your trip. I have detailed reviews of everything in Sintra posted if you find them in my profile.
