The town is located west of the Genesee River in the northern part of Monroe County, and borders the city of Rochester to the east, the town of Gates to the south, the towns of Parma and Ogden to the west, and Lake Ontario to the north. The town is a contiguous suburb of Rochester. As of 2024, the Town has a total population of 93,928.
