Yes it is, you would need your waterproof coats on. The castle car park, which is clearly marked, is about 5 minutes walk away. There is a cafe inside the grounds, so you can have a snack or lunch. There are lots of areas which are inside the castle, but they are not co-joined. You should find it an interesting historical experience, as we did
