A very beautiful place with a lovely history. Many beautiful views. My family and I really enjoyed this place, plus it has a great cafe with good flavors. Full review by Stay756085

A beauty from the first glimpse approaching from the car park - and a beauty from all sides and angles, inside and out. A highly recommended visit - one of the the most handsome in Germany. Full review by Harrison-F-Carter

Hello. We will be staying in Hanover and are planning on a trip to Marienburg. We plan on leaving Hanover by train at around 9am to arrive around 10am, including the short walk, then returning the same way from 12pm to 1pm. Is two hours enough time to see everything at the Castle? Thanks.

There is no bus running from Hildesheim to the castle. Public transport is only possible by train from Hildesheim to the train station in Nordstemmen. But from Nordstemmen to the castle it is another 3,5 km and in the winter season there is no public bus. One possibility is to call a taxi in advance to take you to the castle (phone number of a local taxi service: 05069-806020). Walking the distance would be possible, but half the way you have to walk on a street without a sidewalk. Please note that in January and February the castle is open only Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00 (guided tours only, start first tour at ca. 11:15, last one ca. 15:00).
