It is a little better around 3 or 4 pm .we got there at 6.45 pm. Played on the beach a little. Let the kids go on a ride. And they had ice cream. Adults had the best coffee in calif. The coffee bean and tea leaf .if the had the startrucks .we would have drank water. .

There is a commercial parking lot nearby. If you are at the right place at the right time, you may be able to find on-street parking along the Pacific Coast Highway near the pier.
