This set of cliff dwellings gets overshadowed by those on Chapin Mesa due to the long drive and hike. However, do not miss this one as it is so much less crowded and more accessible. What it lacks … Full review by Grover R

There is a 3/4 mile hike into the start point of this tour that is paved. After that the path is uneven, rocky and steep. We used our hiking poles and when we got to the cliff dwellings left them a… Full review by Songbird865

I will be visiting Mesa Verde in July or August and wanted to get a little more information. I am looking at tours, but I do have a fear of heights. I know there is no way I could do the Balcony House tour, but wanted to get a little more information on the Cliff Palace and Long House tours. I too have a fear of heights, but survived both Balcony House (barely) and Cliff Palace (more easily) and hiked Petroglyph Trail. I wouldn't recommend any of them if you also have a balance problem. I have not visited Long House. You can get a good view of Spruce Tree House from the back of the Ranger's cabin by the Museum. I was only there for part of one day, so don't have other advice.

Q:
Is long house included in the 700 years tour or do you have to book a separate tour for it?
A:
Long House is on Wetherill Mesa, only open in summer, but check with website or Facebook and, yes, you have to get a tour. You will be walking on the Mesa and walking on the ruin.
