Yes, Main Beach is just fine. No problems with safety issues for the teens. We lived in Laguna Beach for a number of years and Main Beach has always been a strong attraction for young and old. At Main Beach, we like that there is a vast expanse of beach and boardwalk, life guards on duty, places to buy quickie-lunch foods near by, and some of the best views in the Laguna Beach area. However, if you are adventurous, hop on the free weekend Laguna Beach shuttle bus and sail on up to Aliso Creek (awesome beach) or venture a bit further up to Salt Creek Beach (near the Ritz Carlton Hotel but still on the bus route). Danyelle, if you have a few days to explore, maybe you want (or would like) to explore a bit. From our experiences (compiled after more than a quarter of a century), the cove beaches up and down the coast from Main Beach (in both directions) contain treasures and true jewels you would miss a lot if you do not explore. Main Beach is always open. The life guards do put up flags on top of the tower that are color coded. Green for safe, yellow for use caution and red for dangerous
