We went to Parque Enriquillo in Santo Domingo and asked people which bus went to Juan Dolio. A nice local showed us exactly where to stand to catch the bus. We asked the bus driver also (in our limited Spanish) and he confirmed we were on the right bus. It was 80 pesos per person. Then we also knew where to catch the bus in Juan Dolio back to Santo Domingo. Once we got to the beach, we discovered that if you go to a beach bar and buy a cerveza you are more than welcome to sit at one of their umbrella tables on the beach! That was a nice bonus!
Hi Cory, this beach looks beautiful. I'm in the process of booking for October .I was interested that you said 'not the white sand area of DR', it looks pretty white on the pics..? what did you mean by that. I guess I'm used to hearing just white or black sand in the UK!

I would say that the sand is perfect, not white, not golden, but in between!!
