I am considering coming to Fernie to fish the region's waters in August. However, I am a little unsure about the classified waters opportunities. All of the waters I a hoping to fish are classified waters and require a daily rod fee and I am Ok with that. however, I am curious how available these opportuniies are. As I understand, they can sell out and then you can't fish those areas on those days. I don't want to travel 2,000 miles to find out I can't fish the waters I wanted to. And I am a strictly a DIY angler. Can you tell me how likely these rods will be available to US anglers for last week of July through first week or two of August? I know it is variable from year to year, but I am really just trying to understand the potential availability AND I will also need to know how early we should buy days. Thanks!

Hello,The waters that have limited licence sales are the Michel Creek , Wigwam, and Skookumchuck creek. All others in our area will not have limited licence sales and you should be able to purchase the day tag for them at any time. If you want to know availability on the waters with limited licence sales then you will need to contact the BC government and ask as we are just a fly shop and guide service and do not have that information. Google "BC fishing licence" for more info as Trip Advisor will not allow me to post links to other sites. Hope this was helpful.
