Hi All. I am planning to visit Sri Lanka in this July (July last week) with my family. I have plans like below - 1. Airport to Kandy 2. Kandy stay for one day 3. Kandy to nuwara eliya by train ( 2 days stay) 4. nuwara eliya to Tincomallee by cab ( 2 days stay in Trincomallee) 5. Trincomallee to Colombo ( 1 day stay) My questions are - 1. Above itinerary is good with the kids . i have 2 small kids . How will be weather that time? 2. how good is Local transport. How much cab will charge usually for all the travel? is it safe to have any cab or there is any tour operator who they provide the cab? 3. How much budget should i have for this travel specially for cab and food etc,(hotel & tickets excluded) 4. What is the Visa validity i.e. within how many days of issue of visa we must enter in Sri Lanka? For Indians what is Visa cost & process. 5. To do and not to do things. Thanks,

Hi, 1. If you are not used to cold climates avoid Nuwaraeliya, since very cold climate there bellow 10C. only April can be recommended to visit there since temperature is bit high in april. 2. You can find a cab service yourself or ask the hotel you staying, they will find one. and I don't think you would need a tour operator. ask the hotel about attractions around the area. or buy a guiding book. 3. Your longest trip is Nuwaraeliya to Trincomalee, it would cost around 20000 Srilankan Rupees.(guessing) about 75000 will be enough for all trips and foods. 4. No idea about this. 5. wear modest dress on sacred places. and don't take pictures posing your back to the Buddhist Pagodas. That's all and have fun !
How can Indians reach over there?? Is passport a must??

Ram sethu, the bridgemade of stones built by Ram’s army that connected to the island kingdom of Sri Lanka actually exists, albeit now ,it’s under water ,Meanwhile ,in Lanka,Raavan’s devotion to Lord Shiva earned him the respect of the God,so much so that he built his devotee a temple. This is the only time when a temple is dedicated to the one who prayed and not the one being prayed to .Today it exists as Koneswaream Temple in Sri Lanka. Here’s the part of the temple where Raavan has been idolized .While having 10 heads is an exaggeration, the idea is based on the fact that Raavan rulked 10 Kingdoms which meant that he had 10 different crowns,it is said that the Kanniya hot wells near the temple were also built by Raavan,Ussanngoda which according to mythology was the landing strip for Raavan’s pushpak vimaan, after Ram rescued Sita from Lanka ,he made her go through Agni Pariksha to test her purity. The place where this is said to have happened is Divurumpola in Sri Lanka. There is a tree in that exact spot and even today, locals disputes are settled through debates and discussions under that tree, So Shaktipeet must exist here ,sorry for me this is all mythical and have no foundation but if it’s your thing then I hope the information was helpful ,I believe in one god that is Jehovah.
