You have several options for the entrance ticket. The staff in front of the ticket gate normally will explain it clearly. As for me, they offer me to take a look first, so I just bought the entrance ticket only. If you bring your passport, they will give you a discount too. When you want to upgrade your ticket into one day pass or just to buy rides ticket, you can use the machine inside the park. I don't think the rides will suitable for kids. Mostly for adults. They do have arcades and my son (6yo) enjoy it. So, if you just want to try the arcades, maybe just buy the entrance only. I didn't plan to stay long there, but we end up stayed there for more than 3 hours.

Hi. I've been to Joypolis twice with my eight-year-old daughter. As I remember, we went on weekends (but not holidays). The waits were not that bad - yes, 10 mins at the least, 30 mins at the most. It really depends upon tourist traffic, whether locals have a holiday, etc. Generally speaking, it's always better to go during the week, and close to opening time.
