We were highly anticipating this annual event which coincides with our visit to Quebec City. I was hoping to see a recreation of the battle on the Plains of Abraham, where the British defeated the F… Full review by alohatripper

Didn't go to any of the "events", but we were able to hear them simply walking around. Be prepared for a mass of humanity, we're talking into the tens of thousands if not more people waiting to get … Full review by SpanishteacherMD

I paid full price. Thousands of us left outside. Terrible in/out organization. I expected more of a first world organization from Canada.... Full review by José Angel N

I was planning to travel to Old Quebec and our stay overlaps with the festival. Just wondering if the city is clogged over the festival days. We were planning on doing the regular touristy things in Old Quebec - visiting the sites, museums and galleries. Just wondering about logistics- over crowding and parking etc. What should be expect during the festival days? We may choose to take in the festival, but I see a crowd topping 100 000 is expected! Wow! That's a lot of people. Assuming the Plains of Abraham are off limits to visitors during the festival?

HI Krystal, my name is Kenza and I work for Festival d'été de Québec. Quebec City gets pretty busy during the FEQ but it is so much fun. We have 10 different venues, some are free and they are located all over the city (between uptown and downtown). The shows start around 6pm so you have the whole day to explore Quebec!! You can access the Plains of Abraham during the day, but the area where the FEQ is happening closes around 3pm to make sure all is secured. But the Plains are huge, so some part of the battlefield is still accessible. The 100 000 expected are on the Plains of Abraham during the big show nights, but you can easily access the other venues or just explore the city. But yes, there will be many people ! :) The whole city is light up by the event and it is magical. I suggest you start booking your hotel now to make sure you get a place to stay. The public transport is pretty good and there are extra buses during the FEQ to accomodate everyone. Otherwise, all 10 venues are easily walkable one from another. The lineup will be out April 3rd and it is really nice! I hope this answers your interogations and that we will see you at FEQ this summer :)
