The artistry was amazing. But would I go back? No. There were huge crowds on the night I went with my two daughters and basically zero crowd control. As we walked through the park I saw few, if any… Full review by Belinda s

We have gone every year since it’s opening 11 years ago. This is probably our favorite Halloween event. Who can resist 5,000 carved pumpkins in a 1/4 mile stretch of Iroquois Park? Each year is a lit… Full review by Joe B

No, I have never stayed at VBRO. That being said would you feel safe there considering the current virus threat? Also, we still have no idea whether the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular will be held this year as of now. Things are just starting to open up but there could be a spike in the virus rates in the fall. Stay tuned. The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is held in Iroquois Park which is in South Louisville and mostly residential. The Dixie HWY corridor has some hotels/motels but I would not recommend that area. The KY State Fairgrounds and Louisville Football Stadium is better with a number of chains including a decent Hilton Gardens Inn and is a fairly short drive to the park. Downtown Louisville is an option with a number of quality hotels but prices are higher and a fee for parking at most of them. The East End of Louisville is filled with a number of quality chains with free parking and some free breakfast options. Plenty of restaurants there and is very safe. Perhaps a 15-20 minute drive to the park depending on the time of day. If the event is a go do come early and also consider coming on a weekday if possible. It gets crowded quickly and the parking spaces fill up fast. I know I’ve been to going every year. Check their website for more information and also the Greater Louisville Visitors Center could prove helpful. Don’t forget Louisville is also home to Waverly Hills Sanitorium supposedly one of the most haunted sites in the U.S. That is also in the South Louisville area.
