I only spent about an hour. I was mostly interested in the architecture of the building itself and the Kandinsky exhibit. Easy to take elevator to the top and walk the spiral down. Be sure to look up at the dome.
Q:
How long is the line to get in usually? Is there a way to buy tix in advance and bypass the line?
A:
We visited on a Saturday in August 2019, there was a very short line to purchase tickets, and museum was not super crowded, and we were able to see all exhibits without any problem.
Q:
Is the air conditioning cranked up super high inside this museum? Do we need a sweater?
A:
Actually, no - it's not too bad at all. Not like going to cinema where you often need a fleece to stop freezing.
