Plenty of parking, short walk to the falls, picturesque landscape, and a nice cafe/shop - perfect stop to stretch our legs during a drive from Derry to Galway! Full review by tan822

Hi there! I was thinking about going to the Glencar lake and waterfalls on a Sunday and I would like to know how to get there from Sligo town. I don't drive or have a car. Is it possible to get a taxi from Sligo town to the Glencar lake on a Sunday or is it possible to walk there from Sligo? Thanks in advance!
A:
You could not walk, it's quite a distance. You should phone round taxis and get quotes. Hope this is helpful.

No, not when we were there, and from the look of it, not at other times either. There is a small building by the car park, that has toilets and seems to have a small office. But I don't see how they would enforce paying first, as access to the waterfall footpath is on the other side of the road, and no gates or such.
Q:
How far is glen car waterfall from carrick on Shannon
A:
About an hour. Take the N4 (main road) to Sligo and its another 15 mins or so up from there.
