Highly recommend. Have done all the other caves in the area, some of which are very commercial/privately owned, and this was very different from the rest. Much more physical and adventurous. Helme… Full review by michellel205

Hello Steph! I don't think this would be one to tackle if you are pregnant. You need to be relatively nimble, as you need to climb over rocks, move through tight spaces and climb several ladders. I'm quite small, but a bit clumsy, so I found this very challenging! There is other caves in the area that have steps and flat areas that are equally spectacular!

Hi, it is difficult for us to quantify what a 'larger sized person' is. We have had taller people as well as more rotund people visit the cave without any problems. The real issue is a person's health and fitness. The cave goes down to a depth of 86 m (the equivalent of a 30 story building) and as you are going through the cave you go up and down to that depth twice. Along the way you must climb vertical ladders and scramble/climb over rocks. Most of the cave consists of large chambers. The tight spots are in the ladder climbs which start half way through the cave. We advise people that if they feel uncomfortable to continue from that point, that they should turn around and head back out the way they came in back up the entrance stairs. It takes about 1 hour to go through the entire cave and as it is a natural feature, there are no 'emergency exits'. We provide you with enough information at the entrance to give you all the information you need to travel through the cave in a safe manner if you decide to continue on. If you would like a cave that is still more of a natural experience with torches and helmets but don't want the strenuous bits, Calgardup Cave is 6km's north from Giants Cave and also much prettier. Calgardup is open every day of the year (except Christmas and Boxing days) 9am-4.15pm daily. I hope this has been helpful to you.
