There are certain attractions located with Fair Park that are open year round including a building that houses butterflies and the Music Hall, which offers Broadway and other shows. The big event, which takes over the entire 270+ acres, is the Texas State Fair. It runs for about 6 weeks in the fall. In addition to these attractions the park is open for walking and biking year round and has nice water features. To find out what is happening on any given day click on the calendar feature at the website for fairpark. Also, note that the park is accessible from DART rail as there is a stop for the park on the Green Line, which also runs through downtown Dallas.
