In my opinion; better outside, would not go inside for a second time. One "ball" has an exhibition about the history of the place, two some kind of lightshows (not "wow") and one or two windows. And… Full review by AnnaInSchelle

The Atomium is quite unique and can be seen from some trains as you approach Brussels. It is a bit over 300 feet tall and clad in aluminum, so it is hard to miss. It was built in 1958 in conjunction… Full review by JustPeachy3

Something different from many attractions. A metal structure but it has a different wine. Don’t expect this when I first saw it. Full review by Agampodi

I emailed the Atomium Terrace today and it replied as follows: "The Atomium Terrace is situated outside the Atomium, right in front of the main entrance. You do not need to pay the entrance to go to the terrace since you do not go inside of the Atomium. There is also a restaurant in the highest sphere of the Atomium for which you do not need to pay the entrance if you do not plan to visit the Atomium. You can just present yourself at the booking desk and my colleague will give you a free ticket ‘restaurant only’ and accompany you to the lift to go up."

My family and I are planning to visit Brussels in August. This is definitely a point of interest for us! Is there an elevator inside the Atomium? I am not sure that our eight year old will be able to handle all the stairs. Our hotel is near the Grand Place. Does anyone know how to get to the Atomium from La Grand Place i.e. which train or tram to take?
A:
There is an elevator at the Atomium - we took the hop on hop off - it stops every 30 min after the hour
