The trail is fairly level w/ a one gradual relatively short down hill section if you take the right junction trail to the beach. Otherwise to the left at the junction you are walking slightly up and down on a high ridge above the cliffs and that trail goes for a mile or more. I estimate the length to the junction I mentioned above is a good mile or more, hard to say because we rode our bikes to the trail head (near the house in the field mentioned below) then walked from there. From Corn Neck Road we took the dirt road marked Clayhead Trail and followed the markers past some houses until it seemed to stop at a house in a field. Then the walking trail goes to the left and around a corner. As you round the corner go to the right under some overhanging branches and stay to the right because all of the trails to the left are part of the "Maze" which are unmarked and very easy to get turned around in circles on. At the next junction go right and you will skirt the field where you will see the same house. Then the trail becomes an obvious mowed grassy path until you come to another junction- right goes down to the beach (you can hear the ocean) and left goes along the ridge.
