Well preserved walled castle in parts with interesting ruins and rebuilt features. The working well with the donkeys turning the wheel was very interesting and a highlight of the visit. Princess Beat… Full review by 287Loges

A really good visit, very interesting generally, but special mention to the museum and the donkey demonstration. Probably worth three hours or so. Would recommend - really good. Full review by southwesttwo

I managed to get an email address to ask questions, and for the information of anyone reading these posts, I thought I'd provide the following which might be helpful for them. Email address is: Sorry, Trip Advisor disallowed providing the email address. Donkey demonstrations: Times vary but normally 1100, 1200, 1230, 1430, 1530, 1630. First come first served basis. No charge. No special events on the day I visit, but if there is a special event, entrance fee is higher. No extra charges other than the museum asks for a voluntary contribution. I read mention of a bowling green on TA reviews, but now its only a grassy area. There's no internet to call for Uber when leaving, but the front desk will call a taxi. There is currently no road blocks en route to the castle (however the whole island has road improvements in various spots - a 2 year project). Hope this helps!
Q:
Can you take dogs?
A:
Yes, we even saw people with dogs walking the castle walls and crowding into the wellhouse to see the donkey treadmill in action!
Q:
What times are the donkey demonstations?
A:
Hiya. I don’t work there I’m afraid so can’t answer with certainty but if memory serves properly there are several demos from mid morning to mid afternoon. I think they’re about every 45 …
